Huxtable Farm Meals
Breakfast Start your day with a hearty breakfast served in the beamed, medieval dining room with the warmth of the log fire around the large farmhouse table. Special dietary requirments - If you have any special dietary requirements (including allergies & vegetarian) please bring these to our attention and we will try to accommodate your needs. The Evening Meal The evening meal is special at Huxtable Farm...end your day, relaxing in the beamed, medieval dining room over an imaginative four course candle-lit dinner, freshly prepared from local, fairtrade and Huxtable Farm produce. To accompany your dinner are home-made bread rolls and a comlimentary glass of home-made wine, but you are also welcome to bring your own wine. The evening meal is a bit like a dinner party with everyone eating around the large dinning table. Choose from a selection of home-made starters and after your main course help yourself to the delicious home-made sweets, accompanied by a generous helping of Devon clotted cream. Sample the varied selection of Devonian cheeses and then relax in the drawing room with a hot coffee and a piece of home-made fudge. All the food is home-made using, when possible, our own farm reared lamb, eggs and food for free from around the farm, such as hazelnuts, blackberries, nettles, elderberries, elderflowers, rosehips, sloes, wild mushrooms etc.
The large fruit garden supplies the breakfast table with home-made jams, and the evening meal with delicious fruit sweets.
The home grown and locally produced vegtables are full of flavour, whilst the country kitchen herb garden is used to enhance the flavour of many dishes. The evening meal is served most evenings (excluding July & August which is B&B only) but please telephone the day before arrival to find out availability of a meal.

This applies not only to food and drink, but building materials, printing, stationary and other general supplies. By using local companies and producers we are supporting the local market which will in turn benefit our business by creating a sustainable local economy. Plus it reduces the miles that these goods will have traveled to reach us, therefore reducing the associated carbon emissions.
