We look forward to welcoming you to Huxtable Farm’s 4 unique camping pitches, each with their own wash room and 2 en-suite family B&B bedrooms, open from April to end August 2026

To avoid disappointment it may be advisable to book early. In the meantime, we are busy maintaining the farm; looking after the animals and selling logs for winter fuel.

Castle Hill Gardens, Filleigh, near West Buckland, Devon

Enjoy walks at and from Huxtable Farm, through wooded valleys next to babbling streams or along north Devons stunning coastpath.

Visit the fabulous Beaches of North Devon, rock pooling and building sand castles, or enjoy some family fun time at North Devons attractions – days out for the family.

May – Two Bank Holidays, North Devon Walks and Gardens!

May – Two Bank Holidays, the perfect time to have a break at Huxtable Farm, enjoy walking in North Devon and explore some wonderful gardens.

Walking-North-Devon, Exmoor & South West Coast Path

May is a fabulous month for Walking in North Devon & Exmoor – The Macmillan Way West and Tarka Trail, both pass the entrance to Huxtable Farm, so we get quite a few staying over night and we always enjoying hearing about everyone’s adventures! Then there’s the South West Coast Path (Raynor Winn’s memoir, ‘The Salt Path’ film in cinemas 30th May) ; with the stunning sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton & Westward Ho! and Croyde beach, one of the best surfing beaches in the UK. The two points, either end of Woolacombe beach, Baggy Point and Morte Point are both stunning to walk, with views out to Lundy Island – a wildlife haven to visit and for a chance to swim with seals!

If you enjoy a walk in the countryside, Huxtable Farm’s Devon Wildlife farm trail has beautiful wild flowers and foliage e..g. bluebells and wild garlic, to enjoy in its varied habitats; woodland, pasture, pond, bracken slope and hedges. To make it even more interesting we also have a ‘Treasure Trail’ for you to enjoy!

With so much to do in the garden at this time of year it’s always great to have a break and visit RHS Rosemoor Gardens and see what the experts are doing and get inspiration. Other glorious Gardens of North Devon include Castle Hill Gardens (just down the road from Huxtable Farm) looks fabulous this month with it’s camellias in flower as does Marwood Hill Garden with it’s beautiful wisteria archway.

Bluebells, North Devon’s Spring Festival and Easter Eggs Hunts

April – Lambs, primroses and Easter chicks

There’s so much to enjoy in North Devon this April;

On the 13^th of April, Hartland Abbey’s Bluebell Sunday

On Sunday 13 April, 10-4pm North Devon’s Spring Fest. Barnstaple pannier market – a day full of food, drink, plants, homemade crafts, music, workshops (for all ages), entertainment, demos and much much more.

Children Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Hunts & Easter fun for all the family;

18th April 11am – 4pm Castle Hill Gardens Easter Bunny Hunt (just 3 miles from Huxtable Farm) – Tickets include; Trail worksheet & pencil, Chocolate prize (for each child completing the trail), 3 Magic Shows & close-up magic with Ozzy, Mini circus workshop and carnival games. Face painting from Sparkle & Co. and bouncy castle (Slide and Play) available at an additional charge.

18th -21 April Clovelly; Find the Easter Chicks

5th – 21st April RHS Rosemoor Egg hunt

5th – 21st April Big Sheep Easter Egg Hunt
